FASHION

PRADA X ADIDAS SUPERSTAR

PRADA X Adidas Superstar set the bar high for footwear collaborations when it first launched in December. Expect anarchy as the second drop of limited edition shell toe trainers hits this month. Sneaker enthusiasts and hypebeasts move quickly.

YOLKE READY-TO-WEAR

Yolke is launching its first Ready-to-Wear line inspired by Little House on the Prairie. Think chintz floor length dresses and prairie skirts straight from the pages of Laura Ingalls Wilder. The collection is launching alongside a matching homeware range— printed linen tablecloths with napkins, and floral cushions woven in the Cotswolds to match the daywear. Locally sourced and produced in Europe, Yolke is using fully sustainable fabrics such as linen.

H&M X P.E. NATION

H&M is teaming up with cult Australian athleisure brand P.E Nation for a collaboration of multi-tasking workout gear— all made from sustainably sourced materials. If you’re after performance wear that can take you from am to pm, have a nosey now. 5 March.

J W ANDERSON X UNIQLO

This month, the hotly anticipated fifth JW Anderson collaboration arrives at UNIQLO. Themed ‘British Country Style’, the 65-piece womenswear collection includes classic-with-a-twist trenches, anoraks, and parkas— with a splash of gingham for good measure. 19 March.

FOOD

LARRY’S

Larry’s is inspired by the iconic Italian-American and Jewish delis found on the street corners of New York City. Expect lox, potato latkes, salt beef beignets and 'nduja soaked focaccia— from the team behind Brixton's Salon and Leven in Peckham. 19 March. Unit 5, 12-16 Blenheim Grove, London, SE15 4QL

WILDFLOWER

Adrian Martin, an Irish ‘celebrity’ chef, is shaking up London's fine dining scene this month with a new Camden restaurant. Serving a high end menu, Wildflower will occupy a converted shipping container as part of the new Buck Street market development in Camden. Head for their wild turbot with courgette flower, wood sorrel risotto and rice pudding soufflé. BOOKS

REST AND BE THANKFUL BY EMMA GLASS

An up-and-coming author, Emma Glass’s second novel follows the story of Laura, a paediatric nurse on the brink of burnout. Her crumbling relationship with her boyfriend, ghostly night shifts, and pervasive nightmares of drowning are spun into this dark yet poetic novella. According to Vogue ‘Glass is an exciting new author to know’. 3 March.

HOUSE OF GLASS BY HADLEY FREEMAN

Journalist Hadley Freeman chronicles the remarkable and tragic lives of her Jewish family throughout the 20th century— a memoir that took eighteen years to research and write. Beginning in Poland 1901, and ending in 1999 in Paris, London and New York, Freeman reconstructs the story of her grandmother, Sala, that the Holocaust tried to erase. 5 March.

THE MIRROR AND THE LIGHT BY HILARY MANTEL

Two-time Man Booker Prize winner, Hilary Mantel returns with the final instalment of her epic historical trilogy. The Mirror & the Light traces the final years of Thomas Cromwell, the boy from nowhere who climbs to the heights of power. Word on the street— the 900-page tome needs some more editing. Judge for yourself. 5 March.

IMAGINE A COUNTRY: IDEAS FOR A BETTER FUTURE

Edited by Val McDermid, Imagine A Country brings together a diverse array of Scottish voices to envision a new future. Think Ali Smith and Carol Ann Duffy nestled back-to-back with Phil Jupitus and Alan Cumming. It’s a collection of ideas, dreams and ambitions, aiming to inspire change, hope and imagination. Timely stuff. 19 March.

EXHIBITIONS

ANDY WARHOL

This major retrospective is the first Warhol exhibition at Tate Modern for almost 20 years. As well as his iconic pop images of Marilyn Monroe, Coca-Cola and Campbell’s soup cans, it includes works never seen before in the UK. Twenty-five works from his Ladies and Gentlemen series – portraits of black and Latinx drag queens and trans women – are shown for the first time in 30 years. Tate Modern, Bankside, London SE1 9TG. 12 March.

CECIL BEATON’S BRIGHT YOUNG THINGS

This major new exhibition explores the extravagant world of the glamorous and stylish ‘Bright Young Things’ of the twenties and thirties, seen through the eye of renowned British photographer Cecil Beaton. It will bring to life a deliriously eccentric, glamorous and creative era of British cultural life, combining High Society and the avant-garde, artists and writers, socialites and partygoers. National Portrait Gallery, St Martin’s Place, London, WC2H 0HE. 12 March.

SHOEPHORIA!

More than 3,000 pairs of shoes will go on show at the Fashion Museum Bath demonstrating the creativity of shoemakers throughout history. From shoes belonging to Her Majesty Queen Mary, to trainers and designer shoes by Vivienne Westwood, Versace and Jimmy Choo, the display will document the evolution of footwear styles over the last 300 years. 28 March.

FILM

TONI MORRISON: THE PIECES I AM

This powerful documentary on the legendary Toni Morrison examines her life, her works and many of the issues she tackled in her literary career— from race and gender to the black American identity. A compelling portrait of the Nobel and Pulitzer Prize-winning American novelist. 6 March.

RADIOACTIVE

Based on the graphic novel ‘Radioactive: Marie & Pierre Curie: A Tale of Love and Fallout’ by Lauren Redniss, Radioactive is a biopic of Marie Curie exploring both her relationship with her husband and their ground-breaking scientific discoveries. Rosamund Pike takes on the titular role, alongside a stellar cast of Sam Riley, Anna Taylor Joy and Simon Russell Beale. 20 March.

MULAN

Mulan is the latest in the Disney canon to receive its live-action remake. A young Chinese girl disguises herself as a male soldier named ‘Ping’ to bravely take her father's place in the Imperial Army. You know the drill. 27 March.

TELEVISION

NOUGHTS AND CROSSES

Almost 20 years since Malorie Blackman's YA novel Noughts & Crosses was published, the BBC is airing a six-part adaptation charting the stories of her much-loved protagonists Sephy and Callum. A gripping tale of first love in a dangerous, alternate world where prejudice divides society. 5 March.

THE MANDALORIAN

The series that launched a thousand memes… yes, the first live action series in the Star Wars franchise arrives on Disney+. Tune in to see the angel face that is Baby Yoda in all his lightsaber wielding glory. 24 March.
